Nach sieben Jahren „Austrian Gamers Choice Award“ war es für den consol.MEDIA Verlag Zeit, die Weichen für einen neuen internationalen Spiele-Award zu stellen, den EURO GAMELIGHT 09 (EGL 09). Erstmalig dürfen die Leser in diesem Jahr völlig frei ihre Spiele-Highlights des Jahres 2008 wählen. In insgesamt neun Kategorien darf abgestimmt werden, ganz ohne die Einschränkung von nominierten Titeln. After seven years „Austrian Gamers Choice Award“ it was time for consol.MEDIA to set the path for a new international Games Award, the EURO GAMELIGHT 09 (EGL 09). For the first time readers may freely choose their personal game highlights 2008. They will be able to vote in nine different categories without any restriction due to nominated games. Einen ganzen Monat lang, beginnend ab 28.02.2009, können User aus ganz Europa ihre Stimme unter www.gamelight.eu abgeben. Jeder Teilnehmer darf seine Lieblingstitel des Jahres 2008 selbst nominieren und dafür voten. Die Spiele mit den meisten Stimmen in jeder Kategorie werden nach Beendigung des Votings in einer großen LIVE Podcast Show mit dem begehrten Award ausgezeichnet. For an entire month, starting Feb 28th 2009, user from all Europa will place their votes at www.gamelight.eu. Each participant may nominate his personal game of the year 2008. After end of March 2009 the games with the most votes will be awarded winners of the EGL 09 in the course of a great LIVE Podcast Show. Für den EGL 09 werden der österreichische consol.MEDIA Verlag und der deutsche Panini Verlag gemeinsam die Veranstaltung ausrichten. Die Verleihung der Preise findet am Mittwoch, 29.04.2009 im Rahmen einer LIVE Podcast Show in Wien statt zu der die Veranstalter auch zahlreiche Leser einladen werden. Die Ausstrahlung dieser Sendung erfolgt kurz darauf über das Internet als Videostream und per Download. The bestowal of the awards will take place on wednesday, Apr 29th 2009 in the course of a LIVE Podcast Show in Vienna.
