Die Gewinner des EURO GAMELIGHT 09 sind gekürt!
And the winners of the EURO GAMELIGHT 2009 are ...

Am 29. April, war es soweit und die beliebtesten europäischen Computer- und Videospiele des Jahres 2008 wurden feierlich im Rahmen einer großen 2-stündigen LIVE Podcast-Show im Hollywood Megaplex des Wiener Gasometers bekanntgegeben. Der EURO GAMELIGHT Award ersetzt dabei in diesem Jahr zum ersten Mal den seit 2001 bestehenden Austrian Gamers Choice Award und macht mit der Ausweitung des Votings auf ganz Europa einen großen Schritt zur Internationalisierung der beliebten Auszeichnung.
Yesterday, 29th April, we were glad to finally announce the winners of this year’s EURO GAMELIGHT Award in the course of a great two-hour LIVE Podcast Show at the Hollywood Megaplex in the Wiener Gasometer. Since this year the EURO GAMELIGHT Award has replaced the renowned Austrian Gamers Choice Award, extending its voting for users of all Europe and therefor taking a great step towards the internationalisation of the popular prize.

Deutschland/Germany: consolPLUS, GamersPlus und GameMaster
Schweiz/Swiss: consolPLUS, GamersPlus und GameMaster

die zum Voting aufgerufen haben, zusammensetzten und sich von dem gebotenen Programm sichtlich begeistert zeigten. Insgesamt waren von Ende Februar bis Ende März über 18.000 Stimmen in neun Kategorien zu den beliebtesten Titeln des Jahres 2008 abgegeben worden, aus denen nun die Gewinner ermittelt wurden:

Neben der LIVE Podcast Show der consol.MEDIA-Redaktion in gewohnt hoher Qualität gab es auch Videobotschaften der ausgezeichneten Entwickler, wie etwa Ralph Fulton, Producer und Gavin Cheshire, Senior Producer von Race Driver GRID bei Codemasters und Ben Tiller, Director von A Vamypre Story bei Autumn Moon/Crimson Cow. Darüber hinaus durfte als Live-Gast der Lead Developer der Ski Challenge '09 Christian Steiner von Greentube begrüßt werden, der den Award für das beste Sportspiel 2008 persönlich entgegennahm.
Besides the LIVE Podcast Show of consol.MEDIA in its well-known high quality our guests could also watch video messages of the awarded developers, like Ralph Fulton, producer, and Gavin Cheshire, senior producer, of Race Driver GRID at Codemasters as well as Ben Tiller, director of A Vamypre Story at Autumn Moon/Crimson Cow. Further we were glad to have Ski Challenge '09’s lead designer, Christian Steiner from Greentube, as a live guest, who personally accepted the award for the best sports game in 2008.
